Internet Domains

The new Internet top-level domains (TLDs) have created new business opportunities together with additional legal risks, requiring experienced expert advice. Ellen represented the only TLD registrant from Israel.

Ellen Shankman’s unparalleled experience and credentials regarding Internet issues and domain name strategies allow us to counsel clients on the creation and implementation of domain name strategy. Ellen is a recognized authority on Internet domain issues and has been active in the drafting and implementation of Internet policies.

ICANN credentials include: Nominating Committee (NomCom), Implementation Recommendation Team (IRT), Policy Council of the Generic Domain Name Supporting Organization (GNSO), and Officer of the Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC). She also chaired INTA’s Internet Committee

Ellen is a UDRP Panelist for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). She has drafted rules for the allocation of domain names under the ‘.il’ ccTLD and serves as an IL-DRP Panelist.

She is also an author and lecturer on Internet issues.
